【摘要】:Thisguideprovidesrecommendationsforfiremodelusersandauthoritieshavingjurisdictioninestablishingthelimitationsoffiremodelsinfireriskandfirehazardassessments.Theguidealsomakesrecommendationsforfiremodeldeveloperstoidentifyappropriateusesandlimitationsoftheirmodel.Thisguideisintendedtoassistinevaluatingtheappropriateuseoffiremodelsinfireassessment.Thesetypesofassessmentsareemployedinproductdevelopment,aswellasindesignandconstruction.FurtherguidancecanbefoundinGuideE1546.Thisguideisnotintendedtoaddressallorlimitanymethodsofevaluatingproperuseofafiremodel.Itdoesaddresstheuseoffiremodelsinfirehazardassessment.Otherusesoffiremodelsincludepost-fireanalysis,research,education,andlitigation.Theprimaryemphasisofthisguideisbothzonemodelsandcomputationalfluiddynamicsmodelsofcompartmentfires.However,othertypesofmathematicalmodelsneedsimilarevaluationsoftheirpredictioncapabilities.1.1Thisguidecoversamethodologyforthesystematicevaluationoffiremodels,whichmaybeusedinfirehazardanalyses.1.2Thisguideprovidesameansofidentifyingbothgeneralandspecificlimitationsoffiremodelsforspecificapplications.1.3Thisguideisintendedtoassistmodeldevelopers,modelusers,andauthoritieshavingjurisdictioninassumingtheresponsibleuseoffiremodels.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
