【摘要】:TestMethodAisusedfordeterminingtheapparentviscosityatagivenrotationalspeed,althoughviscositiesattwoormorespeedsgivebettercharacterizationofanon-Newtonianmaterialthandoesasingleviscositymeasurement.WithTestMethodsBandC,theextentofshearthinningisindicatedbythedropinviscositywithincreasingviscometerspeed.Thedegreeofthixotropyisindicatedbycomparisonofviscositiesatincreasinganddecreasingviscometerspeeds(TestMethodB),viscosityrecovery(TestMethodB),orviscositiesbeforeandafterhighshear(combinationofTestMethodsBandC).Thehigh-sheartreatmentinTestMethodCapproximatesshearingduringpaintapplication.Theviscositybehaviormeasuredafterhighshearisindicativeofthecharacteristicsofthepaintsoonafterapplication.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationoftheapparentviscosityandtheshearthinningandthixotropicpropertiesofnon-Newtonianmaterialsintheshearraterangefrom0.1to50s1.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
